ABOUT

Hi! I’m Kayla (she/her), the owner and sole employee of Secondhand Silience. I started preserving flowers in 2021 and after months of trial and error (and a very brave bride asking me to preserve her wedding bouquet) I started taking on other brides who wanted to have their bouquets preserved. While my main focus is bridal bouquets, I also preserve flowers from all life’s events, like funeral flowers, birth flowers, or “just because” flowers. I love preserving bright, colorful bouquets, and some of my favorite flowers to preserve are ranunculus and peonies.

I live in Dayton, OH with my smart, beautiful wife and our FOUR fur babies. In my spare time, I love spending time with family, watching TN vols football, trying new food, playing volleyball, reading, collecting tattoos, binging tv shows, going to coffee to shops, and soaking up sun whenever it is out. I have also recently become a plant mom, which is quite the feat considering my occupation as a flower preservationist.

Secondhand Silience is my part-time job and is based in my home. I also work a full-time job in Accounts Receivable. I love both my jobs, but finding the work life balance is sometimes difficult! I appreciate you stopping by and learning a bit more about myself and my small business.
